NOW the children of Yashar'el after their number, to wit, the chief fathers and captains of thousands and hundreds, and their officers that served the king in any matter of the courses, which came in and went out month by month throughout all the months of the year, of every course were twenty and four thousand.
Over the first course for the first month was Yashov'am the son of Zavdiy'el: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
Of the children of Perets was the chief of all the captains of the host for the first month.
And over the course of the second month was Dodai an Achochiy, and of his course was Miqloth also the ruler: in his course likewise were twenty and four thousand.
The third captain of the host for the third month was Benayahu the son of Yahuyada, a chief priest: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
This is that Benayahu, who was mighty among the thirty, and above the thirty: and in his course was Ammiyzavad his son.
The fourth captain for the fourth month was Asah'el the brother of Yo'av, and Zevadyahu his son after him: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
The fifth captain for the fifth month was Shamhuth the Yizrachiy: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
The sixth captain for the sixth month was Iyra the son of Iqqesh the Teqo'iy: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
The seventh captain for the seventh month was Chelets the Peloniy, of the children of Ephrayim: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
The eighth captain for the eighth month was Cibbekai the Chushathiy, of the Zarchiym: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
The ninth captain for the ninth month was Aviy'ezer the Anthothiy, of the Bin Ha-Yamiyniy: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
The tenth captain for the tenth month was Maharai the Netophathiy, of the Zarchiym: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
The eleventh captain for the eleventh month was Benayahu the Pir'athoniy, of the children of Ephrayim: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
The twelfth captain for the twelfth month was Cheldai the Netophathiy, of Othniy'el: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
Furthermore over the tribes of Yashar'el: the ruler of the Re'uveniym was Eliy`ezer the son of Zikriy: of the Shim`oniym, Shephatyahu the son of Ma`akah:
Of the Leviyiym, Chashavyahu the son of Qemu'el: of the Aharoniym, Tsadoq:
Of Yahudah, Eliyhu, one of the brethren of Daviyd: of Yisshakar, Omriy the son of Miyka'el:
Of Zevulun, Yishma'yahu the son of Ovadyahu: of Naphtaliy, Yeriymoth the son of Azriy'el:
Of the children of Ephrayim, Husha the son of Azazyahu: of the half tribe of Menashsheh, Yo'el the son of Pedayahu:
Of the half tribe of Menashsheh in Gil'ad, Iddo the son of Zakaryahu: of Binyamiyn, Ya`asiy'el the son of Avner:
Of Dan, Azar'el the son of Yerocham. These were the princes of the tribes of Yashar'el.
But Daviyd took not the number of them from twenty years old and under: because Yahuah had said he would increase Yashar'el like to the stars of the heavens.
Yo'av the son of Tseruyah began to number, but he finished not, because there fell wrath for it against Yashar'el; neither was the number put in the account of the chronicles of King Daviyd.
And over the king's treasures was Azmaveth the son of Adiy'el: and over the storehouses in the fields, in the cities, and in the villages, and in the castles, was Yahunathan the son of Uzziyahu:
And over them that did the work of the field for tillage of the ground was Ezriy the son of Keluv:
And over the vineyards was Shim'iy the Ramathiy: over the increase of the vineyards for the wine cellars was Zavdiy the Shiphmiy:
And over the olive trees and the sycomore trees that were in the low plains was Ba`al Chanan the Gederiy: and over the cellars of oil was Yo'ash:
And over the herds that fed in Sharon was Shitrai the Sharoniy: and over the herds that were in the valleys was Shaphat the son of Adlai:
Over the camels also was Oviyl the Yishma'e'liy: and over the asses was Yechdiyahu the Meronothiy:
And over the flocks was Yaziyz the Hagriy. All these were the rulers of the substance which was King Daviyd's.
Also Yahunathan Daviyd's uncle was a counselor, a wise man, and a scribe: and Yechiy'el the son of Chakmoniy was with the king's sons:
And Achiythophel was the king's counselor: and Chushai the Arkiy was the king's companion:
And after Achiythophel was Yahuyada the son of Benayahu, and Avyathar: and the general of the king's army was Yo'av.
