Chapter 26

1

CONCERNING the divisions of the porters: Of the Qorchiy was Meshelemyahu the son of Qore, of the sons of Acaph.

2

And the sons of Meshelemyahu were, Zakaryahu the firstborn, Yediy'a'el the second, Zevadyahu the third, Yathniy'el the fourth,

3

Eylam the fifth, Yahuchanon the sixth, Elyahu`aynai the seventh.

4

Moreover the sons of Oved Edom were, Shema'yahu the firstborn, Yahuzavad the second, Yo'ach the third, and Sakar the fourth, and Nethan'el the fifth,

5

Ammiy'el the sixth, Yisshakar the seventh, Pe'ulethai the eighth: for Elohiym blessed him.

6

Also unto Shema'yahu his son were sons born, that ruled throughout the house of their father: for they were mighty men of valor.

7

The sons of Shema'yahu; Othniy, and Rapha'el, and Oved, Elzavad, whose brethren were strong men, Eliyhu, and Cemakyahu.

8

All these of the sons of Oved Edom: they and their sons and their brethren, able men for strength for the service, were threescore and two of Oved Edom.

9

And Meshelemyahu had sons and brethren, strong men, eighteen.

10

Also Chocah, of the children of Merariy, had sons; Shimriy the chief, (for though he was not the firstborn, yet his father made him the chief;)

11

Chilqiyahu the second, Tevalyahu the third, Zakaryahu the fourth: all the sons and brethren of Chocah were thirteen.

12

Among these were the divisions of the porters, even among the chief men, having wards one against another, to minister in the house of Yahuah.

13

And they cast lots, as well the small as the great, according to the house of their fathers, for every gate.

14

And the lot eastward fell to Shelemyahu. Then for Zakaryahu his son, a wise counselor, they cast lots; and his lot came out northward.

15

To Oved Edom southward; and to his sons the house of Acuppiym.

16

To Shuppiym and Chocah the lot came forth westward, with the gate Shalleketh, by the causeway of the going up, ward against ward.

17

Eastward were six Leviyiym, northward four a day, southward four a day, and toward Acuppiym two and two.

18

At Parbar westward, four at the causeway, and two at Parbar.

19

These are the divisions of the porters among the sons of Qore, and among the sons of Merariy.

20

And of the Leviyiym, Achiyahu was over the treasures of the house of Elohiym, and over the treasures of the dedicated things.

21

As concerning the sons of La'dan; the sons of the Gershunniy La'dan, chief fathers, even of La'dan the Gershunniy, were Yechiy'eliy.

22

The sons of Yechiy'eliy; Zetham, and Yo'el his brother, which were over the treasures of the house of Yahuah.

23

Of the Amramiym, and the Yitshariym, the Chevroniym, and the Uzziy'eliym:

24

And Shevu'el the son of Gershem, the son of Mosheh, was ruler of the treasures.

25

And his brethren by Eliy`ezer; Rechavyahu his son, and Yesha`yahu his son, and Yoram his son, and Zikriy his son, and Shelomiyth his son.

26

Which Shelomiyth and his brethren were over all the treasures of the dedicated things, which Daviyd the king, and the chief fathers, the captains over thousands and hundreds, and the captains of the host, had dedicated.

27

Out of the spoils won in battles did they dedicate to maintain the house of Yahuah.

28

And all that Shemu'el the seer, and Sha'ul the son of Qiysh, and Avner the son of Ner, and Yo'av the son of Tseruyah, had dedicated; and whosoever had dedicated anything, it was under the hand of Shelomiyth, and of his brethren.

29

Of the Yitshariym, Kenanyahu and his sons were for the outward business over Yashar'el, for officers and judges.

30

And of the Chevroniym, Chashavyahu and his brethren, men of valor, a thousand and seven hundred, were officers among them of Yashar'el on this side of the the Yardan westward in all the business of Yahuah, and in the service of the king.

31

Among the Chevroniym was Yeriyahu the chief, even among the Chevroniym, according to the generations of his fathers. In the fortieth year of the reign of Daviyd they were sought for, and there were found among them mighty men of valor at Ya`azeyr of Gil'ad.

32

And his brethren, men of valor, were two thousand and seven hundred chief fathers, whom King Daviyd made rulers over the Re'uveniym, the Gadiym, and the half tribe of Menashsheh, for every matter pertaining to Elohiym, and affairs of the king.
