Chapter 3

1

ON my bed in the nights, I sought את him whom my soul loves: I sought him, but I did not find him.

2

I will rise now, and go around the city in the streets, and in the squares; I will seek את him whom my soul loves: I sought him, but I did not find him.

3

The men guarding the city found me: to whom I said, Have you seen את whom my soul loves?

4

It was but a little time that I passed from them, that I found את him whom my soul loves: I held him, and would not let him go, until I had brought him into my mother's house, and into the chamber of her that conceived me.

5

I charge you, daughters of Yerushalayim, by the gazelles, and by the hinds of the field, if you rouse the love before she desires.

6

Who is ascending from the wilderness like pillars of smoke, perfumed with myrrh and frankincense, from all of the powders of the merchant?

7

Behold the couch of Shalomah's; sixty masterful men are around it, the masterful men of Yashar'el.

8

They all hold swords, being expert in war: every man having his sword upon his thigh in case of alarm in the night.

9

King Shalomah made himself a sedan litter of the wood of Lebanon.

10

He made the columns of silver, the chair of gold, the riding seat of it of purple, the midst thereof being paved with love from the daughters of Yerushalayim.

11

Come forth you, O ye daughters of Tsiyon, and see King Shalomah in the crown which his mother crowned him in the day of his espousal, and in the day of the rejoicing of his heart.
