AND after Aviymelek there arose to defend Yashar'el Tola the son of Pu'ah, the son of Dodo, a man of Yisshakar; and he dwelt in Shamiyr in Mount Ephrayim.
And he judged Yashar'el twenty and three years, and died, and was buried in Shamiyr.
And after him arose Ya'iyr, a Gil'adiy, and judged Yashar'el twenty and two years.
And he had thirty sons that rode on thirty ass colts, and they had thirty cities, which are called Chavvoth Ya'iyr unto this day, which are in the land of Gil'ad.
And Ya'iyr died, and was buried in Qamon.
And the children of Yashar'el did evil again in the sight of Yahuah, and served Ba`aliym, and Ashtaroth, and the elohai of Aram, and the elohai of Tsiydon, and את the elohai of Mo'av, and את the elohai of the children of Ammon, and את the elohai of the Pelishtiym, and forsook Yahuah, and served not him.
And the anger of Yahuah was hot against Yashar'el, and he sold them into the hands of the Pelishtiym, and into the hands of the children of Ammon.
And that year they vexed and oppressed the children of Yashar'el: eighteen years, all the children of Yashar'el that were on the other side of the Yardan in the land of the Emoriym, which is in Gil'ad.
Moreover the children of Ammon passed over the Yardan to fight also against Yahudah, and against Binyamiyn, and against the house of Ephrayim; so that Yashar'el was sore distressed.
And the children of Yashar'el cried unto El-Yahuah, saying, We have sinned against you, both because we have forsaken our Elohiym, and also served Ba`aliym.
And Yahuah said unto the children of Yashar'el, Did not I deliver you from the Mitsriym, and from the Emoriym, from the children of Ammon, and from the Pelishtiym?
The Tsiydoniym also, and the Amaleqiym, and the Ma'oniym, did oppress you; and ye cried to me, and I delivered you out of their hand.
Yet ye have forsaken me, and served other elohiym: wherefore I will deliver you no more.
Go and cry unto the elohiym which ye have chosen; let them deliver you in the time of your tribulation.
And the children of Yashar'el said unto El-Yahuah, We have sinned: do unto us whatsoever seems good unto you; deliver us only, we pray you, this day.
And they put away the strange elohai from among them, and served Yahuah: and his soul was grieved for the misery of Yashar'el.
Then the children of Ammon were gathered together, and encamped in Gil'ad. And the children of Yashar'el assembled themselves together, and encamped in Mitspah.
And the people and princes of Gil'ad said one to another, What man is he that will begin to fight against the children of Ammon? he shall be head over all the inhabitants of Gil'ad.
